First of all, I am referring to Loop #3 above. The Send Level pot doesn't affect the volume of the amp UNLESS the Send jack has a path to the Return jack. This path can be through an effects device or just through a patch cable. How do you have it set up?Fictitiousfreedom wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:30 pm The send pot kind of works like a MV to an extent, it wont bring the entire amps level any higher than the actual MV is set but if you turn it down it does cut almost all of the volume.

A 1M pot will work in place of the 100k-A pot in Loop #3, but it will shear some high frequencies off through part of its rotation due to the Miller effect.Fictitiousfreedom wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:30 pm I built it exactly as your drawing other than the change from a 1M master volume to the 100K, i didnt have an appropriate 100k pot on hand, so i left the 1M in just to see if it worked. It did totally work!

Re: SLO ef80 to 40 watt with loop
Sorry for not replying for a while ive been sick with a nasty bug.
I eventually got your circuit working somewhat well. There were definitely still some values that probably needed adjusted. It made the amp sound very different. I dont think it was your circuits fault so much as other compounding issues. I could not live with my implementation of it, it was pretty bad. I used a separate board sat over/ between v3 a d v4 and the whole thing was noisy/messy so i pulled it out.
I got to thinking why not just use the original slo schematic to add the loop back in. It is only a few parts and i can fit them on my preamp board. So i added 5 turrets and tbe components, seemed really simple. Fired it up, no sound. Everything was running like normal but i was getting no sound, no noise, nothing. After two days of trying to get it to work i took those components back off the board and cleaned the amp up as good as possible. I still have the tube socket in the heater string just with no tube. The amp actually sounds way better than before so that is good. It also sounds better with my d’lator now. Im satisfied with it like this but considering i still have an extra socket and it would be very easy to add a few components to the board i would really like to know what i did wrong. Ill post all three layouts in a few. I have one with only a passive loop, one with your #3 schematic, and one with my version of the original.
Thanks man!
