Yeah, I kinda feel the same way, like it's bad karma. The sad truth is that no one wants these things any more, so they are now junk. You get a nice bench if you're "allowed" to keep it. If the cab is real wood, maybe you get to salvage some big panels, but expect plywood. If working, the tubes, speakers, and transformers are worth way more than the asking price. I once harvested a Jensen Alnico from an organ, but I've yet to try it out. Of course, if it's filled with 12AU7's, the 50 or so that you'll find in there are likely GE brand and half used up, worth only/maybe about $2 each, eBay value. Maybe you get lucky and find 12AX7s. I ended up with some 6AV6's (half a 12AX7 + a couple of useless diodes, 7-pin). You'll get one or two rectifiers, a few good 6 volt tubes that are keepers. So, really, it's junk. Don't let your mind bamboozle you into thinking there is something bad about taking it apart.

If you have the patience to harvest them, you might find good bumblebee caps in there or black beauties, which can sell on eBait for $10 each. OTOH, they might be green tropicaps or red Sanagmo, which aren't of interest in the audiophool world, but can still be used in guitar amps.

I have had a few of those amps . Most of the time there are the blue molded caps in the PI section . Probably about six of them . If it has the leslie that usually has a nice little 8" jensen . There is a little preamp section housed in a nice little chassis suitable for a champ style build . I think the power supply is a voltage doubler circuit . Also usually has a couple of nice sounding 12" Cleveland speakers as well . There is a little fuse assembly that houses a 6.3 volt filament tranny . Sometimes full of RCA clear top 12au7 tubes . The OTs are woodward schumacher like used in fenders . I think they are good for 6v6 or el84 output tubes . Conn used this same OT (Same part number on the tranny) with a pair of 6v6, 6l6, 7868, 12ab5 tubes .

I have used the chassis that houses the cleartop frames to build some big guitar amps. Conn typically uses voltage doublers on these smaller chassis and melts the PT's down pretty good. I think you bought a little stereo amp from me cbass with 7586 output tubes. This would be what I got it out of.

Yes I almost forgot I got that from you those little OTs sound great with 6v6s .I'm thinking about using each pt to power a pair of 7868s and make a a stereo HiFi amp with some bigger OTs and massive filtering. And build it in the huge tone section chassis. But then again the organ sounds really good . there was a guy on YouTube that tapped the inputs and was running effexts into it sounded really cool
Its packed full of TRW molded caps most of em 400v or more . not sure how they sound in a guitar amp though.

The molded TRW caps...are they the little tubular brown ones?...or maybe the ones that are shaped similar to the blackface-era blue ajax caps?

They probably sound really bad. If you want, just send em' to me and I'll make sure they're disposed of properly.

Dude. What are all those tubes in the tone generator? Anything useful? I'm sure they're ALL Amperex 12ax7s, right?
