Re: 18W Plexi or JCM800?
What gets tricky, buddy? I never build in the low gain input. I need all those holes fer nobs.
Re: 18W Plexi or JCM800?
Well I've made one JCM800 with single input and was not sure I had it wired correctly or if I was correct to eliminate the cap/resistor that normally comes from the low input jack to the volume pot.
The connection of the low input jack to the high input jack and then how it's wired to the volume is confusing to my limited brain mass.
I joined the Dreamtone Forum so I can discuss some things over there hopefully.

there is some info about that at this link. it describes the inputs, then on to some mods or tweaks which have been around for many years.
But hopefully this will help.

Now I want to build a 2203 with 4x 6CM6s. You guys must stop. All I play these days is acoustic too, I need an amp withdrawal patch.
Mark if you haven't seen Huss has a short page on the 2204 with innards and charts.

I'm thinking DIY electro-shock ought to do it. Anyone got a good valve circuit for that?guitardude57 wrote:RP,

But before I throw the switch, what are 6CM6s? In PP AB 6AQ5 = 10W, 6CM6 = 12W, 6V6GT = 14W. I love oddball tubes. Tell me more.
