First, thanks for the review Homer--uh, Colossal!

Second: "Distortion Whores" !!! Wow! I've been writing new material for a power trio, and that is an AWESOME band name. I just registered the domain.

I've both Merlin's Books

and also preamp and power amp Kuehnel's books

To read Kuehnel is more difficult to me, a lot of math, BUT good books and go deep on things

Merlin is a great popularizer and you MUST have his books, they are less difficult to read and also going on the deep of things you can understand it

Very very good books (and not very expensive)

FWIW Merlin has recently updated the website with a section on calculating expected power with a given PT and given load:
