Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Or...Just the baffle. I would buy one. Could you share the dimensions you used?
Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Nah, that would make it too much like a real job. I've been down that road and it gets old real quick. I'm mainly a guitar maker. I build amps cause I can't help myself.
I've got a question for you guys. The original cabinet used block on all four sides to support the baffle. I'm thinking about making it a floating baffle. Can you guys think of any reason why I shouldn't?

Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Sure, no problem.
Here is a PDF that is to scale. Take this over to a Kinko's or some place like that and have them print it to scale. The ring outside the speaker cutout it 15". You can use that for scale.

Thanks Jawdawg that helps a lot, maybe this winter I can get that done and it must be winter now because the snow is on the ground.
Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Thanks Jaydawg, But I am disabled and it is not easy for me to just go anywhere. I was asking if you could share the dimensions on the cab. I can sit at my work space and build amps and I have built cabs before I developed my illness and disabilty. I was going to see if my cousin could cut the wood for me.

Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Yup, I'm going to put together a drawing of the cab with dimensions for building. As well as the chassis dimensions. I'm just starting the actual build so I'm still working out the details myself. I'll post all the details before the treads done.
Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Thanks and take your time. Yours appears to be coming together beautifully.
I am still collecting parts for the build. This will be a winter project for me too.

Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
Just to elaborate. The detail that I'm most concerned about it the clearance between the chassis and the speaker frame. Apparently it was even an issue on the originals. And seeing as how my cabinet and chassis are both based of measurements from original examples...........

Yeah I ran into clearance problems on a custom fender slant style chassis building the Normster Reverb Rocket into a Fender Deluxe 90 112 combo cabinet. I hit more snags than fishing the local Red River loaded with logs and branches.
I relocated the PT and OT twice then took the whole thing apart and left it sit until I decide a better approach to my madness.
Lesson learned about taking your time and thinking things through.

Re: Supro Thunderbolt cabinet dimensions?
jaydawg,
Did you ever get/make a drawing for the Tbolt cabinet and/or chassis? I'm getting ready to build one and have only online photos as reference.
Thanks,
JohnO
