Well, it is but the BBQ version and the Jensen version are within a few buck of each other.

I guess what it boils down to is I've used many BBQ speakers (and liked them)but have not tried any of the reissue Jensens.

Just looking for anyone that has some experience with the new C15N's.

Jaydawg, What material are you using? Can't tell from the pix although it does look like 3/4" something. What dimensions did you end up with. I think I would like to build one...although I don't think MY woodworking skills could produce that fancy baffle. I will be lucky to have a close approximation of a circle!!! :D

The box is 3/4 pine and the baffle is 1/2 baltic birch.

I have it on a reliable Italian authority (not the Berlusconi fella) that the RI Jensens are made with Kapton coils. To my ear, in general, for the ones I have tried, they sound harsh and over-bright. Maybe that's just me, but I've also tried other speakers with 'kaptonite' coils and they have similar characteristcs AFAICT. Stick with the Weber's IMHO

I kind of cheated. My day job is programming and operating a CNC for a custom cabinet shop. I cut the baffle out the end of the day Friday. 8)

Jawdawg,

You could easily sell some of these raw cabs.
