cordovox

Post by Andy Le Blanc »

Another sound man passed off an old cordovox unit to me last night at a gig.
This one I've not heard of before. Anybody have any pointers on one of these? I did hear it might have a leslie / fender association.

Appears to be SS, nice little gold mine for vintage transistors, caps and
inductors. Looks like someone had babied it till it went belly up.
check out the 15 x 8 speaker at the top of the cab. Plenty O room for God
knows what as a tube unit, it has wheels. It was a high tech early 60's
accordion and effects amp, I want to compare it to a roto-sound or other
non-mechanical rotary effects. Lawrence Welk eat your heart out

This one was on ebay a while back.

I think I counted 68 preamp tubes in this one.

Auction ended with no bids.

wow..... interesting beast'y, a long way to go for trem. vib. and verb.
love to see a schematic. I did sound for a band out of PEI last night,
I bet the accordion player hasn't heard of it either. Makes me think of what
and accomplishment it might have been for a company like fender to have a
model in their product line that feature a true vibrato. electric zydico
