I bought one of these from a friend who didn't like it in his Marshall. I've only played it for a few minutes and only in V1 of a 100 Watt 90's style Dumble clone. I had a gold JJ ECC83 in V1 before, also tried Mullard reissue, Tungsol, Sovtek etc in this amp.
Initial thoughts.
1) MUCH brighter and sweeter in the highs than the JJ or any of the others
2) No change in hiss that I could hear, but the mast volume is on about #2
3) More dynamic control, especally over TONE. This amp is very dynamic tonally, meaning you can change your pick attack and change the highs content fairly dramatically. This tube accents that.
More testing to come.

Re: There here, part 2 E813CC initial review
Just got a pair in (still in the box!) of the matched triode 813CC tubes. I haven't fired up an amp with them yet, but I'll get my Meyer/Concorde clone, a 50w Plexi and my 100w Plexi clones involved as well.
They're all fitted out with either Mullard or Telefunken EL 34's and Mullard/Tele/Amperex pre's so it should be easy to tell the differences pretty quickly.
I'm really interested in what you find out with yours in further testing.

Re: There here, part 2 E813CC initial review
Am I correct assuming these tubes are only 1/2 of a 12ax7 or is it both halves with different terminology??
Re: There here, part 2 E813CC initial review
No, it's a dual triode. Check out this thread, data sheets included https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=8957sidehatch wrote:Am I correct assuming these tubes are only 1/2 of a 12ax7 or is it both halves with different terminology??

So am I. I'm hoping to use this amp at a gig Saturday but if it's a small room it'll be too much power and I'll be on the 50 watter again.Southbay Ampworks wrote:I'm really interested in what you find out with yours in further testing.

Re: There here, part 2 E813CC initial review
There were initial reports on the TGP that the tubes were microphonic/noisy and weren't working well.
The same poster (SuperReverb2) played the amp for 4-5 hours loud, and the next day he said the tubes stopped being noisy/microphonic and now he's happy.
I guess there could be a "break in" period on new tubes, I just hadn't heard of it before personally. But I was glad to hear the tubes settle down and started working for him.

Yep, just opened my box and there were a pair of these inside, with instructions on how to cut the silicon sleeve, etc. Warning, huge pic!

I think with such a radically different construction, much may be true about these tubes that we haven't heard of before.Southbay Ampworks wrote:There were initial reports on the TGP that the tubes were microphonic/noisy and weren't working well. ..

Because I'm such a cheapskate, I'm gonna wait until these things have made the rounds.

Re: There here, part 2 E813CC initial review
I tried it in V1 and V2 on my 50 watt amp. I like it in V2 better. I've had no problem with hiss or microphonics but it seems to make some filament noise. It doesn't amplify, you just hear it from the tube itself.
It's quite bright compared to EH and JJ's which IMHO are fairly bright tubes.
So far it seems like a usable tube but doesn't knock me out. We'll see at the gig tonight.
