I wonder if the Thiele cab makes a huge difference for the EVM12L?

Seems like they were made for each other.
I just have my 12L in an open back Lopoline 2x12.
Not the best cab, seems kind of boxy sounding no matter what I put in it.

Funny, I don't have huge objections paying big money for an amp or speaker but I always cringe when I see the price tag on a nice speaker cab.
I know it's just as important of an ingredient for good tone, but I just can't get myself to pay $300-400 for a 2x12 cab.

I am thinking about making the TL806 cab this summer.

That might be the ticket.

But I have always been a little reluctant to go with a 1 x 12.

Probably from growing up in the era of full stack Marshalls and having that wall of sound type look.
A 1 x 12 just looks too small and lonely!

My dream cab is a vertical 2 x 12 wide enough to set the head on.

I build my own cabs with 3/4" and Fender Black Face grill cloth.

Piece of cake.

I have quite a few 1x12" cab in my 15x24'' music room.

They are all dyed in Sonic Blue.

A 12" has no problem spreading even when i play with Deep Purple 2.

None of these guys have ever told me that my sound was bad...

To get back to the original topic. The quintessential Deluxe Reverb Speaker is the Jensen C12N. I don't know if the reissue is as good as the original.
The reissue Jensens I have tried sounded pretty good after breaking them in. I just put 2 into a Twinn reverb and they sounded excellent, very Fender ish.

I have a 12L in a Rivera Thiele cab. Great for just about anything. I also have a 12L in my D'Lite 22 combo cab.

I think it depends on whether you want the speaker to color your tone or not. IMHO the 12L is about the least colored speaker around. If your amp will make the sound, it will reproduce it well.

What difference do you notice between the combo and Thiele cab tone wise?

The combo has less lows and low mids.

I love that sonic blue BTW!
