My friend saved me some not used old tubes. Anyone know if they can be used on guitar amps ?

Re: Found some odd tubes
EL90 can pretend to be a 6V6, but in 7pin socket
Re: Found some odd tubes
A couple of the EF tubes might make neat pentode preamp tubes.
Depending on your building/designing skills, you may be able to build something out of some of them.
I've never heard of a production amp that uses any of the above (if that was the question)

Re: Found some odd tubes
I guess the EL86 can be used as an alternative to EL84.
I got a SE EL84 amp here, and accidently inserted a EL86 (it's pin compatible), and it played ok. I didn't use it for too long, because i was in the process of checking the current at the cathode. With the EL86 inserted, the current was too high, but ok with the EL84.
So just by changing the cathode resistor it would run ok...
I think the EL86 are a 'high-frequency' variant of the EL84...
Most of the other tubes you mentioned are mostly used in if/hf stages in tv and radios....

...Twice... Sorry.
Re: Found some odd tubes
EF93 tungsram, probably not useful for a guitar amp
EF94 tungsram, probably not useful for a guitar amp
EF95 tungsram, probably not useful for a guitar amp
6AL5 EB 91 tungsram, two half wave rectifiers capable of 9mA. Possible use in a pre-amp of some sort, but probably not worth the effort.
E180F philips, a pentode, not sure if it's useful, but you might pursue possibilities.
E188CC philips, this is a great output tube, a dual triode, build the amp as a self-split push pull design.
6AT6 EBC90 x1 tungsram, one triode + 2 diodes. The triode might be useful. It is similar in spec to a 5751, but of course only one section.
EL86 philips, might be good as a single ended output tube. It is a bit like the EL84 and the 6V6.
EL90 philips, also known as 6AQ5, a great output tube. It is a perfect sub for a 6V6, but due to the small bottle size, I wouldn't push plate voltage much above 275. I have run these as high as 335v, but it's not recommened. Of course, it's small bottle 7-pin form means you need the correct socket. Aside from size and configuration, the spec sheet for 6AQ5 and 6V6 are identical.
Your find is a mixed bag, but the price is right.

Re: Found some odd tubes
Thanks everyone for the answers. I'm not going to build an amp around these tubes, was just hoping some of them would be useful for the previous builds I've done. I think I'll put them to ebay if some radio builders would find them useful.
Thanks again,
Thanks again,
