That was our patron saint Leo's method. It works like a charm with a simple jig and solid wood. I get a kick out of cab builders who claim to use finger joints in plywood cabs though.Structo wrote:You guys ever use finger or box joints?
I saw a tutorial on how to do this on a table saw.
They don't interlock like a dovetail would but should be plenty strong when glued.

Why? Marshall does. Even though half the plies are oriented in the wrong direction the other half are more than strong enough.Noel Grassy wrote:That was our patron saint Leo's method. Slight hijack but I was wondering, what joints do you (muchxs specifically, but anyone else's opinions are welcome) use in your covered plywood cabs?muchxs wrote:Why? Marshall does. Plywood isn't my material of choice. I use it for baffles and back panels of course . I use different joints according to application when I build plywood cabinets. My favorite is a hybrid rabbetted finger joint I haven't seen anywhere else.benoit wrote:Slight hijack but I was wondering, what joints do you (muchxs specifically, but anyone else's opinions are welcome) use in your covered plywood cabs?
It's a matter of using materials and techniques appropriate for each design.
