Adding an effects loop to a Fender 5B6 Bassman clone
Hi all. I would like to add an effects loop to a 5B6 Bassman clone. I'm putting it between the volume pot and P.I., but I'm not sure how to ramp down and then ramp up the signal. Can I do this passively? Does anyone have a diagram/schematic? I sure appreciate the help. Thanks a mil.
passive effects loop
I have used this one with digital delay and tremolo pedals and like it. I would think a reverb pedal would sound OK with it. Note that it used shorting jacks.
However, I don't like overdrive pedals thru it. I prefer those prior to the input.

Re: Adding an effects loop to a Fender 5B6 Bassman clone
I've used this exact loop before, and it works fine for time effects. But an Ibanez TS-9 really created havoc. I've read that a buffer is needed to ramp the signal down to SEND and then ramp it up again at RETURN, by a factor of about 10 at each end. Any way to do this passively? I appreciate all help and suggestions.

You originally stated you were wondering about a passive effects loop.
I am not sure you can have one "buffered" and be passive?
I do NOT know where these schematics orginally came from or I would give credit to the source? I had stumbled across these somewhere on the net some time ago. I have not built any of these 3 so I can't say how well they work or don't work? I am simply sharing these for your consideration.
Maybe some others are familiar with these and can chime in and offer some better direction.

Go over to the Dumble files area and look up Dumbleator. It's a very effective tube buffered loop. Use the loop shown above and put the Dumbleator in that loop.
Re: effects loop
Is that three different possible circuits ? and, how would they look in Layout form?10thTx wrote:You originally stated you were wondering about a passive effects loop.
