gearhead wrote:"Green Amps" are Matamps with green tolex and name badge.

Matamp was the one that actually made the "Orange Amps"; Orange was the retailer. Yes, there is a joke in there somewhere, LOL.

This is the right color, but is hard to find (in the UK):

BTW, that Greenamp, Whiteamp, etc. guy is the -FORMER- US distributor of UK-made Matamps. They had a big falling out. He's a little loopy.
This guy?

Here's another Matamp with more of a British Racing Green covering, it's my C7 given to me by a very dear friend in the UK. This Chap is a Matamp fanatic and is personal friends with the entire company.

Matamp was founded by Mat Mathias, a refugee from the Nazis in WWII who moved to England. He started off doing radio and PA work, kinda like Leo Fender. He went on to build amps for many great 60s bands, most notably Peter Green Era Fleetwood Mac.

All of the Orange amps were designed and built by Matamp, the new ones are not.

The Green / Black / White amp BS was a travesty and Matamp detest them. Jeff Lewis is the current owner of this little amp factory in Yorkshire, and they make production amps that you can have customized any way you want. And they have a lifetime, no cost warranty- it breaks, they fix it, no questions.
