Ever since I built my own version of a Hot Cat out of an old Traynor, I've been lending it out to a friend as their band is recording a bunch right now. He has wanted to buy it, but I'm too attached to it to sell.
I found a pretty new Hot Cat 45 combo closer by that apparently had a bad PT. The guy got it replaced on warranty so is selling the bad I've for cheap.
I'm wondering how easy it is to find an appropriate replacement PT that will work and for on these newer models. They are now fixed bias with just ss Rectification. They probably have some relay switching for the channel selection and there is digital reverb... I have no idea if those have some special requirements from the PT as well. Does anyone have info that would allow me to order an appropriate PT? We haven't bought the amp yet... But trying to decide.

Since your starting from scratch if the amp will have relay switching and all its preamp tubes running on DC as a number of amps do, then what I would suggest is to use a separate small PT to get that done .

I've requested some gut shots and those should be coming to me tonight. I'm hoping that reveals some of what is going on in these things these days.
Also, the seller said that he talked to bad cat and they are willing to sell replacement Power transformers... So I should have an idea soon on what that might actually cost. Since they ship from California, it might be significantly more than a Hammond replacement from here in Canada if there is a reasonable substitute. We'll see...

Bad Cat was really good about sending me a new one. $90 USD plus shippings is pretty hard to beat.
To streamline production, it looks like they have the same PT for many (or all) of their amps with different taps for each model.
As I suspected, there is also a 15V tap for the reverb and relays, etc.
