No Sound or anything in Soldano.
Hi. Just put up my Soldano Slo Clone from C3amps and had som minor crackling in it. Thought maybe a tube problem, so I started changing tubes. Unfortunatley I accidently put in a 5881 tube where the steering pin was faulty, so I had it in the wrong way, resultang in a smoke situasion in the 470r resistor. Result: The amp turns on, voltages seem to be ok, but no sound and no anything in the speakers. I suspect issues with the OT, but I can't measure any problems so far. Any idea of what to look for?

Measure the no-signal voltage on the power supplies and all tube pins.

Try pumping the audio from the effects send jack into another amp.

Truthfully I can't see how the short you created from putting that tube in wrong which burned up that one screen resistor would have harmed the OT.
If you posted a schematic of the amps power supply then we could see if the amp has a HT fuse which I suspect is now blown.

Dead on target. Could be the B+ fuse, could be a rectifier, but highly, highly likely a power supply issue.Stevem wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 8:58 am Truthfully I can't see how the short you created from putting that tube in wrong which burned up that one screen resistor would have harmed the OT.

Extremely unlikely to be the OT.

Yes
And the Welwyn W20 Series 470 ohm 3 watt screen resistor.
