Phase Shift Oscillator

Post by cmoore »

Am i missing something really Simple/Obvious
What is being "shifted" in this scenario.?
Is it just the noise on the tube itself :?
thank you

A bit of noise, or the transient that occurs when the pedal is switched gets it started, and then it can oscillate at the resonant frequency determined by the three RC's. The term comes from the phase shift created by each of the RC's, ~60 degrees. The sum of those three plus the 180 degrees shift of the inverting stage make the necessary 360 degrees of shift from the plate back to the grid.

Thank You........... it has taken me 15 years to ask this question.
Do not know why i waited so long. :D

I would stare at the shem, and it is obvious there is no input to the triode, other than its own plate.
How could it work....... now i know
Thanks Again :)
