Also note that a output transformer for a build such as this new will run you well over 175 bucks.
I've always suspected we're a bit too quick to dismiss hefty or even huge single ended guitar amp designs as inefficient dinosaurs that we as a civilized builder society have long left behind us. This guy Bob Gjika builds massive SE amps with 4 (four!) KT77 (EL34) parallel SE tubes that sound unique, here in Germany there's a small amp builder called Reussenzehn that builds exciting EL34 SE amps. Bob Gjika Reussenzehn EL34 MkIII ...just ignore the short bits of German "gebabbel" at the beginning
I know one day I'll have a go at a parallel SE EL34 amp (already saving up for that very expensive SE OT... !)
Despite a good reviews, Laney's Lionheart SE amp line doesn't seem to have got much market traction, the higher power models at least having been discontinued https://www.gak.co.uk/en/laney-lionheart-l50h/57234

That's a P/P amp, at least according to the schematic I've dug up... Laney L50 Schematic
[Edit] Sorry - looked again and the 20W Lionheart actually has a parallel SE power section EL84s...
...and wrong again! the 50W Lionheart actually uses 5! EL34s in parallel SE configuration! Thanks for pointing me to this one, pdf64!
