My First Build.
I originally joined this forum when I was struggling to get my old Burman sounding as it should which I did with the help of the members here but I stuck around because it seemed there was always something new to learn every day.
After a while the Benson Monarch thread caught my attention and I decided that with early retirement looming that was going to be my retirement project.
Anyway, today was the big power up and it worked first time and it sounds great.
It's got some 50hz hum but as some of you will know, I had numerous issues with the transformers so decided not to cut any of their wires to length until I knew they were working so I have loops of heater and ht secondary wires waiting to be tidied up. It's also got the bleed through at zero volume issue that a few of these builds have but I'll get that sorted too.
I'll post some clips when I can play something through without screwing up and I'll post pics when I've done tidying it up.
Thanks to everyone that has helped out with the numerous questions I've posted on here and everyone that has contributed to the Benson Monarch thread.
We got there in the end.

That's great! I'm no prolific builder myself, but it's nice every time you fire one up and it actually works. Sorting out the bugs gives you a little more time to tinker (if you're the sort who enjoys that). Congratulations!

Thanks Johnny,
Yes I'm a tinkerer, it'll end up perfect

Re: My First Build.
Tinkering complete, hum and bleed through eliminated so "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up!"

Yes you could.. and it wouldn't work!
I know this. I have tried to do things without these guys. 100%.

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

A fine looking build. It must feel good!
Re: My First Build.
Yes thanks, I'm really proud of it.
I'm just working on a reactive attenuator for it then my friend is going to build me a combo cabinet for it.

Looks really nice.
What did you do to eliminate the bleed through?
