Scholz Power Soak

Like most things built by MIT Grad Tom Scholz he got this device right.
FWIW i was quite "anti-attenuator" for 40 years but used properly they do have their place.

I also have a THD Hot Plate but the Power Soak sounds way better. Very little signal degradation on the PS.

I have an old Marshall PowerBrake that I’ve had since... maybe, early ‘90’s. It works good for me, and will probably last forever. I tend to play low watt amps at edge of break up—still to loud for my modest needs. The attenuator makes it manageable. It sounds best when not set too low.

I never tried the Power Soak.
