Hi All,
I have been looking at 1960's Supro amps lately and see a handful (mostly in Canada) that do not have the piping around the cabinet.
Anyone know if export amps didn't get the piping?

I don't think the original 1688TN had piping. The one you listed is an original.
The re-issued cabs with the piping aren't the original cabinet. https://suprousa.com/amplifiers/1688t-big-star/ Also they use 6973 power tubes, unlike the originals that used 6L6GCs or 7027s (Wards & Gretsch). Not really the same amplifier.

Thanks for the reply.
Very few I have seen (of the 60's ones) do not have piping and I think its only the 1688TN's (at least what I have seen).
Was wondering if maybe they had been re-covered but that's unlikely.

This one pops up here about every 6-months. It's a Gretsch 6159 - similar to the 1688TN; both made by Valco. Seems to be an original cabinet, and it has the piping.
