These are rated at a HiFi 25W which will be more than plenty for a 30W 6V6 guitar amp build. I used one in a 20-ish Watt 6V6 build that sounds absolutely wonderful. They are HUGE compared to a Deluxe Reverb replacement transformer!

I have another question re OT and impedance

1st pic below is John Mayer rig. One can notice the bandmaster head (4ohms) connected to the lower left cabinet and the Two Rock (using the 4ohm tap) connected to the top left cabinet. The conclusion is that his 2x12 is wired at 4 ohms

Now on the second picture he is using the Deluxe (8 ohms) as a "head" and connecting it to the same cabinet (4 ohms). I remember on the periscope he mentioned disconnecting the internal speaker of the Deluxe, and in that sense he is not using the external out. From what I learned on this thread his primary will probably go from 6.6k to 3.3k because of that, causing red plating!? The bandwith will probably be lost and the sound will not be optimum

I am sure he know what he is doing (as far as gear) so I was wondering what may have been the ratinale or is it a fair assumption that he has a few cabinets wired at 8ohms?

I guess this explains the 8ohm

Just to note that the RS Deluxe OT, of JTM45 fame, was intended for KT66 or EL34 on the 6k6UL taps, or 6V6, EL84 or 6L6 (!) on the 8k or 9k taps, see http://forum.marstran.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128

Cool info! I may end up buying one in the future. In the meantime, I realized I have a brown note d'lite OT (the original 8K vibrolux sized one) that will be a nice upgrade from the smaller 5E3 OT.
