I have an old '62 Magnatone I actually pulled out of someones trash...had the original tubes in it and all (kinda rough cosmetically). After a little cleaning it played well, but I know I really should be replacing those filter caps...I'm starting to get volume drops and other oddities.
I'm torn between using what parts I have around (axial lead Atoms or the like), or trying to source caps as close to stock as possible. The problem is, they are really small diameter caps and not in values I'm finding as common today. The cutouts in the chassis are rather small as well.
I believe one cap is 20-10-10 @450v with the two 10uF sections linked, and the other is 20-20-20 where the first two are @500v and the third is @50v. I'm at work right now, so I don't have my notes, but I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they were.
Since this amp is missing knobs, has torn grill, and is just in general rough (speakers are long gone as well), I'm thinking any fix is good enough, but I don't want to be a hack about it.
Your thoughts?

You can sorta see one of the caps in question poking through in this shot on the bottom right:

I wish I had documented more of my amps this way!

When I recapped a couple of my magnatones I contacted vibroworld and they supplied the correct combo can caps that I needed. All my site addresses are on my old computer or I'd give you a link. Phil
