What about having permanent wires affixed to stuff like tube sockets, pots, switches, etc, but having the other end be a ring terminal so that you don't smash them? What are the leads that got smashed in the first place?
Hi Folks,

I finally got around to really working on this concept.

I moved away from terminal strips and decided to use spring clamp terminal blocks. Works great. I can switch components out in seconds and get a solid connection. I machined out L brackets on my Bridgeport for tube sockets, pots, switches etc. I found that this concept helps to improve layout design. Especially quick changes to reduce lead length. I plan to install a rotary stand so that I can flip the whole amp upside down.

Enjoy!

Man, that is about a billion kinds of cool.

Next, I hope you program a robot to do all the manual labor, so you can just choose a preset from a list of builds, and the robot reconfigures it for you in 6.9 seconds.

Funny you should say that. Here is 4 Axis robot that I built last year. Vision guided to pick and place parts. 7 seconds. Will this do?

I am in Santa Rosa. I see that you are in Chico.

I do automation/robotics in the Bay Area and I run into Chico engineering grads from time to time. Great engineering school out there!

Cheers,

Spectacular amp rig! You should have a Gittler to play thru that:

80/20 is pretty damn cool for a proto rig.

Thanks for the kind words!

Took me a while to get to it. This concept has helped me experiment, test out ideas quickly. I try not to get to comfortable....high voltage!
