Also, whatever you do spec a 120 mains, not 115 like the originals it wouldnt hurt to lower the HV taps either so they spit out closer to 450vdc loaded.

Does the OT check OK when you pump low ac into it, as these where also quite prone to failing?

Well yes, of course. I did not notice your location. Same would apply however if the orginal mains was for 220v, and it's since been upped. Idea was just that if the mains voltage has crept up over the years it's a bad idea to get an exact replacement or your screen grids will be glowing like hot coals.jestaudio wrote:I,m UK based, 235-240 is pretty much the norm for us lotGaz wrote:Also, whatever you do spec a 120 mains, not 115 like the originals it wouldnt hurt to lower the HV taps either so they spit out closer to 450vdc loaded.

Point taken, need to get the specs first which is a real PITA, the amp is actually the Matamp version and should have come with partridge trafos throughout, this has been replaced once by someone, anyone got any ideas where to get the original specs from,Gaz wrote:Well yes, of course.
