Custom build amp specs

Post by jay18 »

Resistors - Allen Bradley, Ohmite, Stackpole, Dale Vishay, Mills, Caddock
Capacitors - Sozo caps, Mallory 150 series caps, Rel Cap, Silver Mica, Sprague Atom, LCR or F&T

Can you tell me if these parts (brands) are belonging to 'the best available'?

:) Hi Jay! To me it seems that your customer knows these components pretty well because all of them are very useful ones to make a good sounding and reliable tubeamp. If your customer wants an amp of best parts available, I guess that he do not expect you to do amp for free to him. To me building amps is a hobby where I try to get some payment of my labourship when making these amps. Normally it takes some 40-60 hours to build one amp without cabin. I have charged some 500 € of my labourwork + prices of parts which has been totally some 1000-1400 €/amp including cabin. You can pick prices of componets pretty easily from web shop pages depending where you are physically located. There are several web shops in Europe like Tubetown, Banzai etc. Then you have to add also components delivery cost to the total price. Regards Harry
