Yes, not necessarily the cheapest, but Chris makes a great dead nuts clone transformer.

According to my research, Chris Merren is considered to be one of THE best transformer makers out there...he seems to specialize vintage Marshall & Vox replicas.
First 25 years of playing, I never got along with EL84's...Now I think, WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH ME????

He will send you to Classic Tone. Nothing rude about it. Chris is stand up guy. He kindoff dislike time wasters. He's great technician as well. Great man with great sense of humor and marshall tech nerd

He can have a great sense of humor, but I just don't like wasting time also!
A great technician (as you say) does not miss the opportunity to work. I gave the features as he had asked and I have not had any response!
Wow, great professionalism! ......

No problem, there are other way to go

Well I also got no answer, maybe because you are in Italy and I am in France and he's already too busy for the US market?

Maybe he's busy enough without getting his stuff CE compliant?
https://www.justgiving.com/page/5-in-5-for-charlie This is my step son and his family. He is running 5 marathons in 5 days to support the research into STXBP1, the genetic condition my grandson Charlie has. Please consider supporting him!

I do not criticize his work or what he did , I just asked if he could build a transformer...., if he was too busy or so...... or did not want, he could tell me, there would have been no problem!

however, we close the discussion!

Just curious, how does Chris Merren's transformers rate against the current offerings?

Previously I have only heard good things about Marstan and as we know the Mercury Magnetics stuff enjoys a good reputation.

I'll have an opinion in a few weeks as I just ordered an OT and a choke for a Marshall plexi/2204 build.

Then again we know what Dirty Harry said about opinions......

No I don't, but getting back to those transformers, you've got to ask yourself one question..........
