Plexi- 'Hot Rodding' a Traynor YBA-IIA?

I got my Traynor YBA-IIA amp up and running just fine. Sounds great!
Its a simple matter to have a normal "Plexi" type sound out of these things- just a couple mixer resistor values to change and change the bass cap value and your pretty much there, becasue the circuits are nearly identical.

I havent heard of anyone 'Hot rodding' these, and thats exaclty what I want to do with it...to get a famous hot rodded Plexi sound.
Does anyone know of a schematic from the YBA-IIA Traynor that would do this for me.

Just throwing this out on a lark in case one of you have looked at this schematic and have done something similar. If you could draw up a schematic, I'd trade you something really cool!

When I was considerably younger and more easily impressed, I went to a similarly famous amp guy named Dan Torres who turned out to be rather an infamous amp butcher. He hosed me on a trade-in and sold me a garbage amp. Better to learn your own way 'round an amp and do it yourself.

To the OP, convert it to a Plexi, research 1 wire mod and Jose. There is your recipe, along with some resonance thrown in as a condiment.

Last year I sorted out a Traynor YBA1A similar to yours that had been butchered by yet another California "expert." For $500, sounds familiar. Plus shipping each way. Among his lame brain "mods" he bolted on, and of course charged for, a Mercury 10 Henry choke. IT WASN'T ATTACHED TO ANYTHING sorry for yelling but . . . you get the point I'm sure. OK it was bolted to the chassis but the leads not part of the circuit. Why, why, why... So you're wise to avoid the Kalifornia Kasual Klutz Kakaphony-baloney "mod" man.

They're not just in Cali either. Had another similar recently modded - locally - Traynor YBA1A. This dipsy doodle sorta "forgot" to put balancing resistors on both series-wired caps. So one 350V cap had about 500V across it, and the other about 25V. I wonder if this one wears his dunce cap while working. It's obvious he either doesn't check his work, or doesn't understand what he's lookin' at if he does. Put "ass-clown" smiley thing here.

I don't want to drop any names, but this person is no hack. He has his own line of amps out and is at the Namm shows, and you've probably heard of him. He does not have a reputation as a hack...more like a famous master amp maker that also does some mods by request apparently.

Jerry2013, perhaps your $500 Cali mod man is someone else? In any case you can do better, cheaper. Let's pull up our socks & get to work. In a good working Traynor you're already half way there.

First of all let's make sure what we're lookin' at. I haven't been able to scratch up a YBA2 MkII schemo. But that M Huss mod schematic that statorvane put up looks sweet! There's some tweaks I'd suggest but let's make sure what we're lookin' at first.
