I have a Mercury Magnetics output transformer for a Princeton 5F2-A build.
The layout doesn't really show output transformer connections. The schematic shows the four wires, but I can't tell from the Mercury Magnetics documentation which wires match up with the schematic.
The documentation shows:
Brown ---------}||{------------ Black
Blue -----------}||{-------------Green 8 ohm
Does the output transformer hook-up as follows:
Brown - 6V6GT pin 3
Blue - 16/450 capacitor (positive side)
Black - 22k resistor and speaker jack
Green - ground and speaker jack

Which transformer is it specifically? I have a schem and layout for the 52F-A in the Tube Amp book but what you're saying doesn't seem to line up with the layout, unless your transformer's wires are differently colored.
Do you have a schematic/layout that you're using that you could post?

What I posted is what came with the Mercury Magnetics FTPO-5 output transformer.
I'm trying to use it in a 5F2-A build.
The standard layout and schematic are attached.

That way or the other way. (I wish tranny winders would stick to standard colors.)
Build the amp but leave one end of the 22K disconnected. Verify that it works, but a bit too brash/harsh. (You may like it.) Then connect the 22K. Be ready to switch-off if it howls. If no howl, play. If it sounds brasher/harsher or just queer, switch the Primary (Brn/Blu) wires and try again. The "right" way should be more mellow than with the 22K disconnected. Less bass-slap, more "clean" power (with more abrupt transition to overdrive).
