Tolexing my Plexi

Post by KT66 »

I bought a bare ood cabinet for my plexi build from Kress amps and tolexed it myself. It came out pretty good for my first try, but I wasn't sure how to put the piping on the top and front, so I just left it off. there were grooves cut into the cabinet where the piping was supposed to go and i was thinking that I could slice the tolex with a razor blade and glue the piping in. Does anybody know what the "correct" way to put the piping on is? Also, I was surprised at how hot the top of the cab got from the KT66s, is this normal? I'm thinking of removing the tolex and routing vent holes in the top, but I don't really feel like it if it's ok to be like that.

Cheers

While not SPECIFICALLY about a head, here is a very good tutorial on tolex.
