Asteroid power board resistors: 1 watt or 3? Other?

Post by PB Wilson »

Checking through my Asteroid info I see contradicting info regarding the layouts and BOM for the 220K and 10K resistors.

The full layout asks for 3 watt resistors, but the the individual board pics and notes call for 1 watt resistors.

I presume that the 3 watt resistors will lead to a bit of insurance over the life of the amp, but are 1 watt resistors (which I have) ok to use?

Whatta ya say?

On the cap board the 220k balance resistors and the 10k dropping resistors are indeed 3W flame proof type.

1k 5w for the power tube screens and 1 on the cap board.

For the tone board you can use 1w resistors.

Anytime you want a resistor to disipate heat, stick it up in the air instead of tight against the board.
