Hi folks
I have a Traynor TR1 Reverb unit on the bench
There was faint hum with controls dimed but it was pretty much OK
It needed a 3 prong power cord and I installed that successfully
The hum is now very significant and is definitely related to the proximity of the PT to the tank. When I remove the chassis from the cab it disappears. The chassis has a shielding plate on top so that's not the issue
Previously the hum was no issue- why would it be now?
Any insights please

Persistent hum in TR1 Reverb
.........Now where did I put it?
Re: Persistent hum in TR1 Reverb
Don't know why it would be now, but try turning the tank 180 degrees so the return driver is now farther away from the PT?

Re: Persistent hum in TR1 Reverb
I recently had an Acoustic 4x10 combo in for repair. It had the reverb tank mounted to the inside of the back panel of the amp chassis. There were two hooks on the outside of the back of the chassis to wind and store the power cord. It had a loooooong power cord, so I did not bother to unwind all of it... (Do you see where this is going?
). Took me a while to figure that one out.

A while back I posted about having all kinds of noise in my basement. I eventually found the issue.JazzGuitarGimp wrote:I recently had an Acoustic 4x10 combo in for repair. My son had borrowed my big long extension chord and didn't bother to roll it back up. It was just a big tangled blob of orange hum antenna hidden behind an amp.
