as usual, Phil is 100% correct... but I weighed in a little late. BTW, that little 100 ohm resistor trick is a way to "create" a center tap if there is not one included in the wiring of the transformer. You can check some older tweed schematics and layouts for it in the heater/rectifier filament supplies as I recall.
