I missed the 5V heater winding. With 5U4, probably 500-ish voltage. With GZ34, lower 500's, likely under 550, which seems to be the upper limit of a number of the tubes I mentioned. 3A is good for both those rectifiers and they should take the expected 415-415 input without a problem. I'd take a hard look at the KT66, and EL34. You can probably do it with a 6L6 if you use the 5U4.

If you can find a 5R4 that, too will work.

I think the input will be too high for many of the other common tube rectifiers.

That 5V winding opens a world of possibilities. Are you sure you don't want to send that old thing to me? You don't really need it, do you?

LOL, you've talked me into keeping it. A single-ended KT88 can do about 20 watts. Maybe a dumble inspired preamp. May throw in an ECL84; 1) because I have a bunch, and 2) that would make it a complete duck-billed platypus.

That's the spirit! Don't disappoint us. We want to see what you do with it. Watch out because whatever Franken-amp you concoct, it will be impossible to duplicate, and everyone who plays it will want one.

Yeah, and this time around if it turns out great, I won't sell it. I'm still trying to buy back the franken-jtm45/50 I built and sold to a friend.

Actually, you know what? I have so many projects I'd rather it get some love and attention. So Phil, pay me whatever you want plus actual shipping costs, I will donate any profits to RockStah's funeral fund, all you have to do is tell us what you do with it. Pics and clips would be nice, but not necessary.

Sending you a pm.
