I've just scored a Laney VC30 in non-working condition, but I think the txs are good. I can't find any details on the specs of the txs, but would assume the OT is 4k A-A, 30W, and the output impedance switch is marked 4 or 8R.
My next build was going to be PP cathode-biased KT66s. Would this OT be man enough for that, if I was to use it as 8k A-A with 8 and 16R outputs? I had been planning on an HT of 450V.
Another OT suitability Q

Re: Another OT suitability Q
Having scoured the datasheets for KT66s, I can't find any cathode biased examples with output of more than 32W. A pair of EL84s can put out more than half of that according to their datasheets, and the VC30 has four of them.
Am I on the right path here, and is using it with double the primary and secondary impedances ok for preserving power handling?
