Hey all.... been lurkin here for some time now and would like to ask
as i have a deal pending.
I am planning on a 124 build and have a 022889 ot and 022699 choke + a full set of jj tubes on its way . these came out of an old twin and i'm wondering
if you can advise me as to any concerns that i should consider when getting this stuff used....wire length comes to mind. and it's only got 4ohm ?
I'm a newbe amp builder and just want to be sure on having what i need!
Dan (skyripper2).
thanks in advance.

Should be fine, excellent even. Splicing transformer leads is an honerable tradition- HAD did it many times when reusing old iron.
Re: ok found ot and choke +tubes
What martin said in spades.
Twin Reverb iron, BF or earlier SF (I am not familiar with the varieties of later SFTRs), is great stuff, rugged as hell, way underrated, weighs a ton, and sounds great.
Magnetic Components, mostly sold on line by Triode Electronics,
seems to be real good stuff. I have a MC TR type PT waiting for a build, and it is pretty hefty and seems well built.

Good luck, and go for it!

Re: ok found ot and choke +tubes
well i'm committed now as I traded a roto vibe pedal for the stuff!
now onto finding a PT and chassis then it's off to the electronics store for the bits and bites.
Thanks Martin for chiming in , I have read many of your posts and am feeling
really happy about starting my build. I would love to scratch build the whole thing, but will probably buy a chassis with the cut outs done
