SE Wreck

has anyone built a SE rocket, a mate of mine is pretty impressed by my Rockster but its way to loud for a bedroom and has asked me to look at a single ended version of about 10 watts or so

If you want around 10W, build it with 2xEL84.

For bedroom level with these kind of amps in which PA clipping contributes a lot to its distorted sound, you have to go to down to 1watt or even less. I would try VVR or power scaling. I have an AX84 HO (from 1 watt to about 7 watts depending on the output tube) and I ended up power scaling that one too.
