quick 5e3 tranny question

Post by dragonbat13 »

I have a stancor power tranny with 260-0-260 @ 90ma, 6.3 v @ 3a and 5v @2a.

I also have a mercury magnetics ftdo-59 output tranny.

Can I use these two to build a delux 5e3 clone?

Thanks for any help.

Those transformers should work fine. The MM59 is a sweet OT too.

I think my 5E3 is running around 360V on the plates. If I had it here I would measure and post, but it's still in storage until I finish my house.

Thanks. How does the 5e3 sound compared to some other amps? I have a 54 princeton that sounded really cool. Also have a heavyly modified twin. I like the reissue bassman also. How does the 5e3 compare to these?
