where to get sprague (or simlar qulaity) cathode bypass caps
It's easy for me to obtain 25V 25uF sprague electrolytics for cathode bypass. But, where can I find similar quality 3.3uF, 5uF and 10uF caps for similar purposes?
Thanks!

I use Tubedepot for quite a bit of my stuff.
http://tubedepot.com/spragueatom.html
order more than $100 and get free shipping.
if you can wait for fedex ground it's only $4.95 which is cheaper than the gas I would spend to find them somewhere here locally.

Thanks, but, they don't seem to have any of the low value (3.3uF, 5uF, 10uF) low voltage (25V) caps that I am looking-for.dju wrote:I use Tubedepot for quite a bit of my stuff.

try mouser. they have a cagillion parts to pick from.
they aren't a guitar amplifier specilty dealer so you have to dig through all of the options to find what you are looking for. but they probably have what you are looking for if it exists.

In anyones opinion, are these any good:
mouser part # 75-TE1204 (vishay, 25V, 10uF)
mouser part # 75-TE1202-E3 (Vishay, 25V, 5uF)
?
Thanks,
P

Vishay is good but if I can I buy Nichicon (especially from Mouser). They'll be just as cheap if not cheaper and are as high quality as anything else you can buy on Mouser (e-cap wise at least). You might even check the datasheets and find parts that are specifically meant for general purpose audio applications.

Here's some in 3.3uF: http://www.mouser.com/Passive-Component ... ap&FS=True

8uF and 10uF @ 150V are the lowest values for Sprague Atoms at Antique Electronic Supply. Are you looking for radial or axial caps?
Axial at Mouser Vishay Sprague

You will have to go radial for the other values, or use film caps ($$$).

www.turretboards.com has them in the values that you want.

The Nichicon are supposed to be low ESR and sound good according to some Hi Fi guys.

Cathode Bypass Caps
Try Weber's caps. You'll have to go to 50 volts to get the values you want but they're $.45! I have used a bunch of Ted's caps (I like his orange drop look alikes) and they all seem to be just fine.
