Yeah, it's overkill... but this is what I am thinking of doing...
Two of the vactrols are normally on, two off. The single control line toggles them. The relays control lines could be jumpered, and the board populated with up to 4 relays.
The EC2-5NJ relay has excellent contact specs... used in PBX gear.
Any suggestions? Improvements? Glaring problems?

Re: This is my vactrol and relay board plan...
I updated the doc... still no suggestions. Unlikely that it's "perfect." Anybody?

Looks good! Probably more switching "power" than most amps discussed here require. Are you planning to build/sell some of these?

The idea is fully populated would be more switch power than most would need. You don't need to fully populate it would be the idea... usually just a couple of vactrols and a relay or two. It will be setup with a row of turrets on each side of the board, for easy interconnect to the relays or vactrols.
I'm considering adding jumper eyelets so you can easily add any of the relays to the footswitch connector as well, either normally actuated or not actuated.
The board fully populated would pull 40ma per vactrol, and 28ma per relay (the EC2-5NJ relay). That'd be 192ma, as only two vactrols can be forward biased at a time. So that would be maximum. I'm getting some vero board tomorrow to test this out with before I go to PCB production.
I am going to build some for my own use... but I wouldn't mind selling some of the unpopulated boards here too.

Here's the idea with the jumpers, so you can select if the device is NO or NC:

Mickey,
Put me down for a couple of those. You should also post at the Amp Garage. The Dumble amps could more fully use this switching power. Maybe also, the SLO site.
