quirky plate load resistor reading

Post by bluesguitar »

I changed the plate load resistors on a 67' super reverb, because the 82k resistor measured 105. Although the new one was a bit out of spec (89k) before I installed it I didn't want to wait to have another shipped. The strange thing is after I installed the new one it also reads 105k, identicle to the old one and the reason I replaced it. Anyone have a guess as to what is happening here?

Not sure. What does the old one read after you removed it?

Yes. You can't measure everything in situ. Many of the readings will be wrong with the component installed. It's in a circuit.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
