Sears Silvertone - need a new choke

I am repairing a 1396 silvertone circuit in an amp called a "Noble." 2x10", dual output trannies.

One of the (very old) power supply filter caps shorted to ground! The choke came between B+ and ground...so, the choke burned/fried.

So, the choke is fried. I am having trouble finding a replacement part. The weird thing about this circuit is that the center tap of the two output transformers is on the down-voltage side of the choke. So, all of the power tube current flows through the choke. The schematics label is as 40 ohms DC resistance. It is pretty small (2 3/8" mounting centers) and I can can't find anythin gthat sound like it might owrk to do the job.


Any ideas? Silvertone experts out there?

You'll probably have to shoehorn a larger choke in. The Hammond 158R will fit, but only rated for 200mA and I'm sure you have more than that. Hammond 158T is rated for 300mA, but a bit bigger.
