I am working on a mid 1960's Ampeg Gemini G12. The power indicator lamp is blown. It is powered from 120V DC (yep, DC). It fits in a 1/2" hole on the front of the chassis.
1) Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part (I know this is a long shot)
--- or ---
2) Anyone know of an alternative lamp fixture I can mount in a 1/2" hole (since the amp is vintage I do not want to enlarge the hole).
Any help apprecited!

From the schematic I have seen, the indicator is a 120 vac lamp. It is tied across the primary of the power transformer. I would think that mouser or Allied would have something very similar.

Re: looking for replacement for Ampeg Gemini pwr indicator lamp
thanks...but..the version of the Gemini that I have looks like this:
http://www.el34world.com/charts/Schemat ... eg_G12.pdf
See how the indicator bulb/lamp is connected to the DC power supply? **
** see power supply node labeled "H".
I could extend the heater wires to bring them to the bulb. So I was thinking that if I could find a lamp fixture that needs a 1/2" chassis hole, and could find a 6.3V bulb that could be mounted in the socket I'd be good.

What does the pilot light look like? 120vdc verses 120vac what's the difference?
www.turretboards.com has lots of pilot choices.

It's probably just an NE2H neon bulb.
Can you get the bulb out ?
Is the 270k dropping resistor OK ?

Pula58,
Fliptops is a great place to do business. The one caveat is that the replacement trem bug they sell is for the Gemini II or VI. The Gemini I uses a little square one with different electronic specs. Be sure to ask if you need to replace it. sh
