ORANGE 125 SCHEMATIC?

Post by Buddha's Guitar Tech »

Hi guys, long time no visit.

I have on the bench an Orange 125 - 2xEL34 (the chassis has been punched for 4)
S.N. 1078

Distorting in the second channel - the signal gets clipped PRE P.I., and it's not happening in the first two triodes, so i'm turning my attention to the reverb circuit.

The schematic i have is for a Mark III (link below) - not very simple to follow, and it's for a 4xEL34 version.

Wondering if there's a schematic out there which tells the complete story, in a more familiar form.

Thanks

I looked on EL34 World, but they had the same print that you posted.

Good luck.

Thanks.

After some patient deciphering, it looks like one channel has two gain stages and the other (the one that clips) has three gain stages.
The reverb return goes to one triode, then another - along with the dry signal in the latter.

Never used one of these amps before, but my DMM and scope tell me this might just be normal for this amp.

Thanks sellout, but that's a windows-only thing apparently.

I have a MKIII schematic already and it's close, but not entirely the same.
