I have an Eminence "The wizard" speaker in the amp and need to test/replace with another but only have a 4x10 set of speakers (2 ohms total) to test with.
Can I plug those speakers in the Carr?
Can't remember if I can load in that direction or if I have it backwards if the Carr is 8 ohms
Anyone know the speaker impedance of a 1x12 Carr Rambler

I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen a tube guitar amp designed to handle a 2 ohm load (maybe that huge old Fender bass amp?).
I would strongly recommend you don't use any thing less than a 4 ohm load.

Blackface Super and Tweed Bassman are 2-ohms, but not much else so 4x10 2-ohms is slightly impractical. It's probably four 8-ohm speakers wired in parallel. You could rewire them parallel-series or series-parallel and get 8 ohms, which is almost certainly what the Carr wants to see.
?
How do you like the Carr amp?.They look like very high quality true pt. to pt. amp.I always wanted to try one,Thanx Mikey

It really is a wonderful amp..It's just that I am the second owner and it had Sovteks for all tubes (except an unknown USA V4 12AX7). So, I don't know if this is what Steve Carr used from the shop or not (hope not).
Once I put in some JJ's (standard for the 3 Preamp tubes) and 2 matched for the 6L6's, this amp became noticeably more musical.
I neglected to change out the Phase Inverter and am now considering a balanced 12AX7 next.
