EU amp builders (including UK...)

Post by spiralstairs »

Hi all,

Just thought I'd throw this out there - I'm a Canuck but now living across the pond. I find it quite annoyingly hard to find info about EU products if you're not searching in native languages.

Does anyone have details on who sells ODS style amps over in EU ? I know of a couple but was looking for a more complete list

On another note, anyone doing SLO copies would also be of interest, as well as Trainwreck :)

To add some substance to this post, and show I'm not lazy, I thought I'd post a list of the EU amp companies I've found.

Don't want to seem spammy, but I think it'd be of use to many people. There are obviously others - some I left out because they're not 'boutique' and others because they seemed not of interest to me for one reason or another, but now I can't easily go back and find out which ones I took out

Note my search wasn't for Dmb/trainwreck amps, I was just searching for amp companies in general. Now I'm worn out so I'm taking the lazy route of just asking ;) But also because I'm interested not in just companies but also smaller individuals who I might not easily find with google

From the below, hook amps do a D-style amp.
Also, paolomazza is a forum member and does D+T style amps

Must be more!

I know two Swedish amp builders who do Dumble-type amps:

Tommy Cougar (don't know if he still builds for customers though)
www.custombycougar.com

Ola Lehnert

Both these guys sometimes hang out at a Swedish amp forum I frequent (ljudbojen.com), and they seem to know their stuff really well.

Thanks!

That is also another question I had, where should I hang out forum-wise? I suppose English-speaking forums in EU would all be UK focused, unfortunately - but I need to start hanging out in less USA focused places ;)

Edit - and by this I mean non-ampbuilding forums, more just general guitar-playing/gear forums - obviously ampgarage is best for ampbuilding...
