There's Bad Cat talk everywhere.

But not what I'm looking for.
I've searched every nook and cranny of the net trying to find info on the Cub II, and as far as I can tell, there's very little. The most I can find out is it's heavily based on the Lightning. Well, Matchless' are my favorite amps (main amp is a DC-30) and so I've studied that schem (all the Matchless schematics actually) excessively, I bet I could draw it from memory. I'm still a noob to all this stuff, but I am, honestly, unhealthily obsessed with soaking up everything I can. And I want to know what the differences are. Anyone shed any light?

I'd be willing to bet the CUB is a lightning circuit.
I have a Star Amps gainstar 15 which is Mark Sampson formed after he
left badcat. I reversed engineered the amp and guess what - the clean channel is a lightning without the master volume!!

And I would not be surprised if the gain channel is a hot cat or a hot box circuit. Or is it something different?

Correct! A modified hotcat gain channel to the T!
