Great new source for ideas & circuit education

Post by rfgordon »

Maybe y'all are way ahead of me on this, but if you want to see lots of really cool circuits and such, check out the new Google Patents database. For example, if you search "Guy Hedrick" you find at least one Guytron patent. Same for "Randall Smith"--you find Boogie patents. Many of the things on there don't have component values, but you can see how some things out there are done, which can be educational and inspirational. Some of them are really old and expired, while some are current. Interestingly enough, searching on "Dumble" turned up lots of other stuff, but no amps of myth and legend.

And, if you happen to have a more prurient male streak, search the patents database with some, um, how shall we say...alternative terms...and you'd be AMAZED at what's been patented!

Thanks for sharing this. The amp part that is!

I guess the reason for not having values in the patent is obvious: it would limit the claim to those values only.

FYI: There have been discussions on the ampage about the stuff that has been patented by Randall Smith and some others. Maybe it is still there...
