Modding an old peavey amp

I have a Peavey 400BH being used for bass. The limiter in it seems to ruin some of the qualities that I really want to get out of it. Therefore, I want to bypass the limiter.

I am not really sure where the limiting is happening. What should I jump/short out?

That is a solid state amp.

The transformers only put out 52v and 16v so it is not suitable for a tube amp.

I dunno, but I took a look at your schem, and although I am not unfamiliar with analogue SS circuits and IC's etc, it is a complex schematic and would need someone who works with these on a daily basis to interpret how it works. Most of us are here with tube amps in mind. Now that I said that, some smart-ass will proly chime in and prove me wrong.

There appears to be a switch at the input to U1C, pin 8.
Does that not control the limiter ?

Defeating the limiter on a Peavey power amp will allow clipping to occur, which in turn may cause 'bad things' to happen.
Proceed with caution.
