Any body have a part number for the equivalant to a cliff in a neutrik jack both single and stereo. I keep looking at the pictures but none of them show jacks well enough to know which is which. any help here much appreciated. Thanks Bill

Which Nuetrik jack, and which Cliff, there is cliff UK and Cliff USA and they don’t sell the same product or product quality.
All their websites have comprehensive information on the jack sockets

Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
IMO the Cliff Jacks are of superior quality compared to the Neutrik, but for the black plastic nut with solder tabs I've used:
Mono: NYS2122
Stereo: NYS212
Mono: NYS2122
Stereo: NYS212

Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
Thanks jhaas ive just had problems with getting everything but the cliff uk jacks and the other ones are not that great of quality the springs wear out in my switching and I end up having to replace them, even a hair to long on my soldering wrecks them and I have to replace them I had sold one of my amps to a local musician I usually keep them all but then the spring went bad and he couldnt switch from the front switches kind of embarrassing I fixed it but with the same switch I have a feeling 6 months down the road I will be fixing it again so Im just done with the fake cliffs untill I find a supplier who keeps the real uk cliff jacks all the time.

Have you tried contacting the USA Sales link at the bottom of this page:
http://www.cliffuk.co.uk/news/news20100611.htm
I was unaware of the "counterfeit" Cliff Jacks before this. If you get any supplier info, please share.
(BTW, I used to life in Shoreline, WA, and work in Everett for years.)

Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
I have had problems with Cliff jacks locking in the 1/4 guitar plug and bugger to get back out of the jack.
This has happened on several amps. Too much heat when solder or what do you think is going on with these? Cliff jacks with chrome nut.

I've used close to 2000 of the Cliff UK jacks and never had a problem. Sometimes the plug is hard to push in the first few times, but this sorts itself out.

Are there really fake cliff jack sockets out there?
The originals on my 70's amps are still holding up just fine whereas the other plastic components in those amps have become brittle and are now changed out.
If you cannot find the real Cliff sockets you could see if the Amphenol ACJM-MHS presses your button. It is a switched mono with a chrome hex nut that I have been trying for a couple of years now. Same size, just a different look to the front side. There is a stereo version too; Amphenol ACJS-MHS. These are both solder tag versions. IMHO they are tougher than the plastic Neutriks.
Best, tony

Yes there are fake ones.
Make sure they say Cliff UK on the bottom or they are an asian made jack.
The FORMER US Distributor is manufacturing their own 'line' of Cliff stuff and bringing it in to avoid having to purchase their wares Cliff UK.
Asian varients are likely decent but won't have a nickel silver contact. It'l be tin plated phospher bronze.

Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
The other problem with the asian variety the spring wear out quickly within months on 3 differant jacks.
Always on the first position then my toggle switches dont work to change channels without the footswitch I cant have that type of failure rate with anything maybe I just got a bad batch. but if its not cliff UK Im not gonna use them and its only the stereo jacks for me I dont know why. I even used heat sinks on the last one still went down. go figure.
Thanks Bill
PS. Thanks Overtone I will look into those jacks to

Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
Use the Cliff UK only!! The Cliff USA are really fakes. There are other fakes out there, so beware of eBay sales. I have used tons of the UK Cliff jacks and never have had a problem. I have tried a few of the Neutrik Cliff style jacks, and they tend to melt very easily.
Eardrums!!! We don't need no stinkin' eardrums!
Re: Neutrik equivalant to a cliff jack
I see I have not been using the real Cliff jacks that's the problem.
Ok I will resolve that issue right now, thanks guys.
