IRC GS3 Metal Glaze

These are film resistors and i read they were very quiet and the 3watt rating probably helps so I got a few for the input jack. But, I decided to research a bit more and see the spec sheet at IRCtt.com shows it is "a good carbon comp" replacement.

Are these still quiet for use at the input? I don't see any reference to them being noisy, just warm and nice sounding.

I have used them with excellent results for input grid leaks, plate loads and elsewhere. Very quiet and like they say, warm, without excessive detail.

Colossal, thanks. I plan to use two before the PI on the X10 and one at the input jack. I googled em pretty hard before buying and heard they were warm. The "CC replacement" comment had me spooked. Appreciate the comment.

Once RJ gets back and I can order some iron from Edcor, I'm ready to build - I have all the stuff but the iron. So hopefully you'll see some pics coming soon. I have to be outta town this week in Toronto but hope to start drilling/building next weekend.
